Founded in 2002, Northeastern University Dance Company, NUDANCO, aims to provide an artistic outlet and performance opportunities for NU students with a passion and commitment to dance. Our biannual showcases feature talented dancers and ambitious choreographers, who collaborate for months to produce artistic works that will entertain the NU community, dance enthusiasts, and our supportive fans. Company members contribute choreography in the genres of modern, jazz, ballet, lyrical, tap, Irish step, and contemporary.
The Company
The Northeastern University Dance Company is a group of 100 skilled dancers from pre-professional and competition dance backgrounds. Striving to continue to perform at the pre-professional level, the company is student-run, student-choreographed, and student-performed.
Our Fall and Spring semesters consist of weekly rehearsals for each piece, in preparation for that semester's show. For the Summer semesters, our dancers host weekly workshops in varying styles available to all company members and Northeastern students. While we do not host technique classes on campus during the Fall and Spring semesters, NUDANCO manages group outings to local dance studios, i.e. Boston Ballet and The Dance Complex in Cambridge, where company members can continue practicing their technique. |
